This delightful picture book is an adventure story for 4-6 year olds. It is set in Dunedin and stars Josephine the restored Double Fairlie steam locomotive on display at Toitu Otago Settlers Museum.
Josephine is bored with her life as a display in the museum. When the opportunity arises to escape, she retraces her previous journeys along the Taieri Gorge Railway and then charges down the Otago Central Rail Trail - no problem that the tracks are gone!
Trains are always popular with young children (and the not-so-young too). The Toitu Otago Settlers Museum in Dunedin has a very special old steam engine called Josephine – and she stars in her own picture book, “Josephine off the Rails.”
